Sailing Darkness Into Light fundraiser for Pieta House

Published 06:36 on 8 May 2025
Please join BBSC this Saturday May 10th for the Darkness Into Light fundraiser for Pieta House suicide prevention programs. The weather looks like it will be fine, and it's a magical experience to watch the sunrise over Bantry from the water! If you just can't make yourself get up that early, don't despair- you can still donate for this worthy cause using our donation link.
Please aim to be on board your vessel (yacht/kayak/scull or whatever) by 4.15am, ready for the walkers / runners who will be leaving the GAA park at 4.15am. Please use lights / fairy lights to make yourselves visible.
Breakfast is being sponsored by Bantry Bay Port Company and will be served in the Green area (near SuperValu) from 5.30am. Breakfast roll and tea / coffee.
![]() Pieta House was established to provide FREE, accessible one-to-one counseling to people suffering from suicidal ideation, engaging in self-harm or to those bereaved by suicide. 24-hour Crisis Helpline - Pietas Crisis Helpline is a vital front-line support for anyone in suicidal distress. That is almost 300 calls and texts per day. |
